Throwback to France and Kaysersberg, as we just re Throwback to France and Kaysersberg, as we just realized, that we forgot to post about the fantastic castle ruin! The views over the town of Kaysersberg and the vineyards around it are dominated by the ruins of Kaysersberg castle, towering right above the old town. The castle ruin nowadays consists of remains of stone walls that climb up the hill, and of a majestic round tower, one of the oldest round keeps in Alsace. After climbing up the long spiral staircase inside the tower, there are beautiful panoramic view of the town, the Weiss Valley, the vineyards and the Alsace plain. The castle has a long history; it was built in the early 13th century, and back then it was property of the Holy Roman Empire. The castle was a strategic stronghold on the road crossing the Vosges Mountains, blocking access to Lorraine. The town of Kaysersberg grew around the castle, inside the fortification walls. In 1293, Emperor Adolph of Nassau proclaimed the city "Imperial free town", giving it great privileges.#finnsaway #nomadlife #visitsalsace #kaysersberg
Unkel am Rhein was a lovely find 😍This small Unkel am Rhein was a lovely find 😍This small town in the Rhine Valley has a charming, historical old town right by the river. The main sights include St. Pantaleon, a 12th century Romanesque church, the Freiligrathaus baroque palace and the Red House, a half-timbered house and former home of Chancellor Willy Brandt, now a museum.A walk through the old town of Unkel, along narrow, cobbled streets, offers picturesque views and beautiful, centuries old half-timbered houses, and the riverside walking promanade is ideal for having a picnic or just hanging around, admiring the views.Sunday reel 31 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #visitgermany #rhinevalley
Cochem is a super pretty, historical town along th Cochem is a super pretty, historical town along the Mosel River in western Germany. This small has been an important wine trading centre since the Roman times, and is a popular cycling and wine tourism destination in the picturesque Moselle Valley.During our visit the weather unfortunately was quite gray and cloudy, but the old alleys and squares, lined with half-timbered houses, looked beautiful nevertheless. The most distinctive feature of Cochem is the imperial Reichsburg Cochem Castle, perched high above the river and the walled old town. The oldest remnants of the castle date back to the 11th century.Sunday reel 30 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #visitcochem #germanytourism
Kaysersberg is often said to be one of the most be Kaysersberg is often said to be one of the most beautiful towns of Alsace, if not the whole France, and this historical town truly is charming!❤️Nested in the Valley of Kaysersberg, just 10 kilometres from Colmar on the Alsace wine route, Kaysersberg's old town, surrounded with vineyards, is a lovely maze of old, cobbler streets, cute half-timbered houses, channels, old churches, bridges, stone walls and gates. Furthermore, there are small shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafes, as well as wine shops of course. One of the notable structures in the old town is the fortified bridge, that dates back to year 1514. It was built to replace an old wooden structure and equipped on both sides with parapets and loopholes, to prevent any action which could take place along the Weiss river.#finnsaway #nomadlife #visitsalsace #kaysersberg
Life lately in France 😍🇫🇷For the past t Life lately in France 😍🇫🇷For the past three weeks we have stayed here in Alsace, and we can't stop admiring the beauty of this region, famous for the wine and old villages with half-timbered houses. Some of the historical towns and villages look like they are out of a fairytale, ad the endless vineyards and rolling hills around them are just so super scenic 💚Sunday reel 29 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #visitalsace
In mid June we returned to Europe, and to the love In mid June we returned to Europe, and to the lovely Alsace region of France 💙❤️Our flight from Sao Paulo landed in Madrid, from where we jumped to Lyon and then traveled to Colmar in Alsace by a bus. It was a long and tiring trip, and when we finally arrived in Colmar, it was 3 AM and we were super tired. But a walk in the historical center of Colmar in the middle of the night, while waiting for the local bus, was all that was needed to wake us up, this town is magical!😍We have been in Colmar several times, and it always a pleasure to walk along the old cobbled alleys, admiring the half-timbered houses, canals, bridges and flowers. During the summer season (and Christmas market time) Colmar is very popular, but when exploring it before and during the sunrise, we had it all for ourselves, just the moon was watching, before sun took it's place 🌙The seven months adventure in the Caribbean and South America was fantastic, but it feels super good to be back on our home continent! We have been able to settle down for a few weeks in a small village in the middle of the beautiful vineyards of Alsace - more about this wonderful area will follow soon! 💚#finnsaway #nomadlife #visitsalsace #colmar
Beco do Batman in Vila Magdalena neighborhood is p Beco do Batman in Vila Magdalena neighborhood is probably the best known area for street art and graffiti in Sao Paulo, and a great add to your city tour route! This small alley and it's surroundings is filled with colorful murals by local and international artists, that form an astonishing open air art gallery 😍The street art movement in started in the 1980s, when an unknown tagger covered a facade with a huge portrait of Batman. It gave its name to the neighbourhood, which translates to ‘Batman’s Alley’🦇.Nowadays Beco do Batman is a trendy tourist area, filled not only with street art, but also small restaurants, cafés and craft beer pubs, as well as street markets focusing on crafts like jewelry. Most of the Batman themed murals are painted over, but there is definitely a lot to see and do.Sunday reel 28 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #travelforlife #visitsaopaulo
The last destination on our four months tour in So The last destination on our four months tour in South America was São Paulo, the largest city of Brazil. This bustling metropolitan area is home to over 22 million people, and forms the largest population center in the whole Southern Hemisphere. It is of course impossible to get to know such a huge city very well in just a few days, but we did do some sightseeing trips in different parts of it, like in the Centro, that is full of old architecture and administration buildings, Liberdade, that is also known as Japantown. We stayed in Vila Marina area, close to the huge Ibirapuera Park. This city park was opened in 1954 and is the most important urban park in the city, with a lot of activities and attractions. In this first picture dump snapshots from different parts of São Paulo:1) Sé Metropolitan Cathedral
2) On a sightseeing tour in the Centro
3) Municipal Theater of Sao Paulo and the Fountain of Glory, Order and Progress
4) Monument to the Immortal Glory of the Founders of São Paulo
