New FinnsAway season has begun! 🤩After busy b New FinnsAway season has begun! 🤩After busy but lovely August in our home country, it's time for new nomadic adventures in Europe and beyond 🌍The ninth season has just started with a road trip from Finland to Albania, and further on to Greece, with our small camper van. The first days are mostly about just driving and some very limited sightseeing, as we have a rather tight schedule due to a work related event in Krujë next week. After the event, we are planning to do some island hopping and hiking, before starting a three-weeks house-sit in Thessaloniki 🐾🇬🇷Plans for the rest of the year and for the winter are pretty much open at this point, but hopefully we will explore some new destinations oversees!🤩The pic was taken during a short visit to Lublin, a beautiful old town in Poland, more about that will follow soon!#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #locationindependent #travelblog #travelinspiration #travelforlife #nomadiclife #adventurers #vanlife
Another throwback to August in Finland with a shor Another throwback to August in Finland with a short introduction of Olavinlinna / St. Olaf's Castle and Punkaharju. We visited these famous sights during a road trip through eastern Finland and the so called Lake District, an area with a huge amount of lakes and ridges formed by the movement of ice at the end of the ice age.St. Olaf's Castle, is a 15th-century three-tower castle in Savonlinna. It is built on an island in the Kyrönsalmi strait that connects the lakes Haukivesi and Pihlajavesi. It is the northernmost medieval stone fortress still standing, and also the best preserved of all the medieval castles in the Swedish realm.St. Olaf's Castle is popular around the year, but m most busy during the summer months, especially at the time of the Savonlinna Opera Festival, for which the castle forms a spectacular stage. The last three pictures are from Punkaharju Ridge, a narrow esker separates two lakes of the Saimaa lake system, Puruvesi and Pihlajavesi. Punkaharju is an iconic Finnish national landscape, and has inspired artists and writers, and drawn both domestic and international visitors since at least the early 1800s.#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #travelphotography #travelinspiration #instatravel #visitfinland
August in Finland 🧡We had wonderful time in o August in Finland 🧡We had wonderful time in our home country, visiting family and friends in different parts of the country, and soon it's time for new adventures abroad!🤩When looking at the photo album, it seems that we didn't take much pictures or videos during the month, but maybe that just tells that we were focusing on meeting people and enjoying the summer wholeheartedly. But here some memories of the beautiful summer of Finland 💚Sunday reel 36 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #travelphotography #travelinspiration #instatravel #locationindependent #visitfinland
Romsdalstrappa is a scenic hiking trail in Åndals Romsdalstrappa is a scenic hiking trail in Åndalsnes, western Norway, leading to the Rampestreken viewpoint at 537 meters above sea level. This viewpoint is a 20-meter long steel ramp, with the last 8 meters extending straight into the air.The viewpoint is the most popular place to enjoy stunning views of Åndalsnes, the Romsdalsfjord, and the surrounding mountains, but you can also continue further up – during our visit in July there was a long queue to the platform, so we headed up on top of Nesaksla mountain instead, and the views, especially towards the Romsdalen valley, just kept getting better!🤩The trail to the viewing platform and the mountain peaks is relatively short, but the ascent is quite steep, and features both sections of stone steps and sections with rocky paths and tree roots. Wear comfy shoes and bring water and some snacks to best enjoy this beautiful trek! If the ascent feels too demanding, there is also the option to take a cable car up to the mountains.#finnsaway #nomadlife #visitnorway #romsdalstrappa

Moments from along a road trip from Sweden and Nor Moments from along a road trip from Sweden and Norway. After ferry crossing from Helsingør in Denmark to Helsingborg, we drove north towards Norway. The first actual destination on this leg was Oslo, the modern capital of Norway. We visited on a lovely, hot summer day, and there was huge amount of people in the city center as well as swimming in the sea right next to it.We drove further northwest past Lillehammer, and stayed for a night in Brumunddal. After visiting friends near the Rondane National Park, we followed the turquoise Gudbrandsdalslågen river towards Åndalsnes.Sunday reel 34 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #nomadiclife #travelinspiration #roadtrip

The UNESCO-listed Kronborg castle in Helsingør, D The UNESCO-listed Kronborg castle in Helsingør, Denmark is one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. It was immortalised as Elsinore in William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, and is a very popular tourism destination in this old coastal city. The castle's history dates back to a stronghold, Krogen, built by King Eric VII in the 1420s. Along with the fortress Kärnan in Helsingborg, on the opposite coast of Øresund, it controlled the entrance to the Baltic Sea. From 1574 to 1585, King Frederick II had the medieval fortress radically transformed into a magnificent Renaissance castle.Hamlet was first staged at Kronborg in 1816, in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.Sunday reel 33 / 2025#finnsaway #nomadlife #digitalnomads #travelforlife #nomadiclife #instatravel #travelinspiration #kronborgcastle #visitdenmark
